About Us
Our Story
The Manchester Academy of Simulation in Healthcare was founded by emergency physicians who recognized a critical gap in medical education: High Acuity Low Occurrence (HALO) procedures. These life-saving interventions—Surgical Cricothyrotomy, Emergency Thoracotomy, Resuscitative Hysterotomy, and Pericardiocentesis—occur in less than 1% of emergency cases, yet account for the highest mortality when performed incorrectly. Our mission is simple: prepare clinicians for the moments that define careers and save lives. Every protocol is developed by NHS emergency physicians and trauma surgeons with real-world experience in critical care.
